Bonus MoFo: Giveaway Time!


It seems like lots of MoFo-ers are giving stuff away this year, so why not jump on the bandwagon?

I made a lot of jelly/jam/marmalade/etc this summer. I have an especially large surplus of apricot-ginger preserves (a syrupy confection which can be poured over biscuits or pancakes) and hot pepper jelly (more or less acc to this recipe and pictured above).

Leave a comment about your favorite jam or jelly or pickle, and I will randomly select someone to receive a jar of each of the aforementioned items. Check back on Friday to see if you won (as I will probably need your address).

  1. When it comes to pickled foods, I loooove pickled ginger and various peppers. I've never pickled anything myself, but I will some day! Fig-Pear jam is my favorite!

  2. well hello pepper jelly!!!! my favorite has got to be either pepper jelly with cream cheese OR this ginger fig preserve jam amy and i just made. our new house has a nice fig tree, so we hit it up.

  5. I worked in this bakery for about a year and a half (pregan). A lot of the recipes were German or German-influenced. They used apricot or raspberry jam in a lot of things (kolachkes, thumbprints, coconut bars, cakes, etc). I've always been a firm raspberry lover, but working there totally opened my eyes to the awesomeness that is apricot jam. I have a lot of other preserves, but I love, love, love apricot.

    (Also, I really, really love ginger. Hint, hint!)

  6. My favorite jelly is actually jalapeno jelly, which I discovered at Los Bagels in Eureka, California (6 hours from me). I tried buying some at the store, but it didn't compare :(

  7. oh my! i'm a fan of hot pepper jelly- it's that sweet and hot thing. i also love apricot preserves. ginger is becoming a nice addition to my usually boring one flavor items these days (i.e. chocolate!)

  9. I loooove pepper jelly, especially paired with vegan cream cheese. But I'm going to go out on a limb and say my favorite pickled food is pickled okra (I made some and posted about it a while back, and I've been a little bit obsessed ever since).
